Leading ski travel agent Iglu Ski has partnered with multi-medal winning Paralympian Jeanette Chippington to raise money for Disability Snowsport UK (DSUK). One of Britain’s longest serving Paralympians, Jeanette Chippington is one of the world’s most successful paddlers ever, with over 30 medals to her name since making her paracanoe debut at the 2011 World Championships. This summer, with Jeanette’s help, ski holiday company Iglu Ski raised over £400 at a sporting event in August, contributing to an overall figure that day of over £2,300 for Disability Snowsport UK, Iglu Ski’s chosen charity. Earlier in the summer, Iglu Ski enabled Jeanette to ski for the first time in her life, thanks to Disability Snowsport UK. Paris 2024 was Jeanette’s eighth Paralympic Games after making her debut at Seoul 1988 before going on to swim at Barcelona 1992, Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004, winning a total of 12 medals. Jeanette first learnt to swim as part of physiotherapy after contracting a virus and only got into canoeing through a friend who nagged her until she gave it a try. On August 16th, 2025, Jeanette joined a team from Iglu Ski to take part in the annual Superheroes Tri at Dorney Lake, sponsored by Marvel. TV presenter Clare Balding hosts the day, and a round-up show aired on Channel 4 on August 31st. Taking part in the Sprint Triathlon, Jeanette completed the swim, easily winning her wave, with Louise Newton and Clair Stokes from Iglu Ski completed the push/run and cycle legs respectively. Iglu Ski raised over £400 that day, contributing to an overall figure of over £2,300 for Disability Snowsport UK, Iglu Ski’s chosen charity. About Jeanette’s first time on skis Earlier in the summer Iglu Ski hosted Jeanette to learn to ski at the Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead, assisted by Disability Snowsport UK. DSUK exists to ensure that anyone can ski, and adaptations to equipment can be made to make this straightforward. Jeanette tried a mono-ski, also known as a sit-ski with two outriggers for stability and propulsion. Jeanette was a natural and took to the snow with ease. It means she can now join the rest of her family on their ski trips. Jeanette said, ‘I loved learning to use a mono-ski at the Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead. I’ve wanted to join my family on the ski slopes for many years, and now I have the confidence to do it’. Virginia Anderson, CEO of DSUK said, ‘We’re so grateful to Jeanette and Iglu Ski for competing in the Superheroes Tri in aid of Disability Snowsport UK. It’s such an amazing event, and in total we had two teams competing and raising a substantial amount. This means many disabled children and adults can try skiing with us - irrespective of their disability’. Winter Olympics 2026: Everything You Need to Know About Milano Cortina
